Jane is a conceptual and written word artist with a background in fine art as a social practice and English literature. Her practice is influenced by an eclectic mix of art movements from the Renaissance to the Surrealists to the Dada poets to early contemporary art practices. Influenced by this background of art history study, she loves the sense of the new and unconventional and is effortlessly, fearlessly curious and creative. Jane she loves the challenge of a Wild in Art trail sculpture, helping to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity. Traditionally, various pedigrees of sheep are dyed for show at auction, some producing a lively golden hue to the coat. A Suffolk sheep called ‘Solid Gold’ which broke records at auction in 2021 was the inspiration for this Shaun where he is adorned in gold leaf. This eye-catching golden hue is melded together with the colours of the seasons that surround a flock of sheep, the fields and the countryside throughout the year. The sculpture celebrates Britain’s farms and farmers, and the creative farming tradition of dying a beautifully bred sheep for ‘show time’.
