The sculpture was designed by a student at Oakwood Park Grammar School, Joe Scullion. The design highlights many of the endangered birds from around the world, getting the audience to consider the beauty of the animals and the cost of losing them forever. The sculpture also pays tribute to David Attenborough and his environmental advocacy.
