Kent businesses are being offered an amazing opportunity to get involved in an exciting new public art trail which will hit the public spaces of Maidstone in the summer of 2024.
The new ‘Shaun the Sheep in the Heart of Kent’ free public trail will follow on from the hugely successful ‘Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade’ in 2021 which captured the hearts and imaginations of young and old alike as they took part in a colourful walking trail to discover all the fabulous large colourful Elmer sculptures which were located across the streets, parks and public spaces of Maidstone.
What do potential Sponsors need to know?
Shaun in the Heart of Kent is presented by Heart of Kent Hospice, in partnership with Wild in Art, Aardman and Presenting Partner Maidstone Borough Council. The trail will take place around Maidstone and will feature up to 50 individually designed eye catching Shaun sculptures, accompanied by a flock of little Shauns!
The large sculptures will be designed and painted by local and national artists and will be auctioned at the end of the trail to raise money for Heart of Kent Hospice, while the little Shaun sculptures will be designed and painted by young people from local schools and the community. They will form the Learning & Community Programme and will also be part of the summer trail in 2024, before returning to have pride of place in their school and community group as a legacy of the event.
Shaun in the Heart of Kent is about partnership. It will bring together local companies, schools, community groups and creative sectors to highlight the area’s best assets, inspire civic pride amongst residents, and boost the local economy.
